Git URLs need to be build in a special way: first, specify the Git repository URL. If your package definition file ("grain.xml") is located in a sub folder inside the repository, add a "+", followed by the sub folder path. Finally, specify the tag or branch name in square brackets. You can omit the branch or tag name when you want to refer to HEAD. An example for a Git URL is: git+https://github.com/user/project.git+sub/folder[v1.0.9]. ....
